Ironing clothes is definitely NOT my favorite chore. But I have a husband who goes to work everyday in a uniform, so I don’t really have a choice but to do it (with joy in my heart –well most of the time!).
Last night, was not just an ordinary ironing night. As I plugged in the iron, it short circuited and all I can remember was what seemed to be 10 cameras flashing all at the same time and a loud pop that left my ear buzzing for a few minutes. I called my husband who came rushing to the room and then, not sure of the damage it might have caused me, I decided to look at my hand…
I felt the heat, I saw the spark and the explosion was so loud that I thought I burnt my right hand. But God was there with me, I knew He was the one who protected me. If you notice, I got some band aid on my middle finger. The night before this incident I accidentally broke a nail. Yes, I could get really clumsy sometimes! So I prayed to God to protect my hands because I want to use them for Him. I want to write for Him and about Him! It’s just really funny how He spoke to me through this mishap, that indeed He is gonna protect me.
“The LORD will keep you from all harm– he will watch over your life” Psalm 121:7
My husband said “My wife is a fighter!” and I told him “Oh I’m not a fighter. God fought for me!” I just know He did! The fact is, it could have been worse! But the truth is, the LORD was with me! I was reminded of the words He has impressed in my heart these past few weeks since the beginning of the year, that I actually doodled the same day this happened.
Mountain-moving faith, supernatural favors, beautiful miracles –this is what 2016 will be filled with and I believe that a miracle already started. The miracle of an unharmed hand (not even a scratch) and the miracle of starting a blog! I know this is long overdue; but hey, at least I got to start now haha!
You wanna know another funny story? I asked God to give me my first post because as you might not know, I kinda struggle the motivation & inspiration when I don’t really have something to write from the heart. But when I do, it flows like the rain on a rainy day in a tropical island like the Philippines. The words just start pouring in my mind and out of my hands and it doesn’t stop until I write them. So I guess that’s another reason why last night had to happen. I got my first story –and it had to be this way.
GOD IS GOOD! He is a promise giver and a promise keeper! If He tells us to go do something, we just have to do it. And the things we can’t do? He can and He will for He is faithful! I can’t wait to share more of who He is in my life and in other people’s lives with you!
